|Glazed ⓘ The coat of enamel or liquid glass that is applied to ceramic and porcelain tiles. Glazed tiles are non-absorbent so do not require sealing.||No|
|Requires Sealing ⓘ unglazed tiles will absorb liquid, which will lead to staining. Thus it’s necessary to apply a protective sealant to unglazed tiles.||Yes|
|Frost proof ⓘ Different types of floor tiles have different water absorption rates. porcelain tiles are engineered to be frost proof in temperatures below zero as they don’t absorb water (non porous).||Yes|
|Rectified edge ⓘ Has been mechanically cut or ground down to an exact size. The edges are usually precisely cut at a square 90-degree angle.||No|
|Anti slip ⓘ Slip rating given to determine how slippy a tile is. R9 has a small degree of slip resistance, right up to R13, which is the highest slip resistance.
R9 and R10 values are often used for domestic situations such as bathrooms and kitchens.
|PEI rating ⓘ PEI ratings help you determine the hardness and durability of floor tile.
PEI 3 Light to moderate (normal) traffic.
PEI 4 Moderate to heavy traffic.

An interlocking natural stone tile with a rough matt finish and riven texture. Stone imitation cladding tile.
The Oyster Splitface is a quartzite tile featuring sparkly crystals. Suitable for fire hearths. Alternatively, it makes a beautiful kitchen splash back or bathroom feature wall.
The colour “oyster” is usually described as a grey with a touch of green and beige, a yellow-toned pale grey.
For more colours check out the Split face collection.
These split face tiles are not intended to be used in wetzones such as showers.
Quartzite is a natural stone where sandstone, which under a natural process of heat and pressure is fused with sparkly quartz crystals to form quartzite.
SEAL: Natural products must always be sealed to protect them from staining and corrosion. All natural stones are porous with numerous capillaries running through, allowing liquids to be absorbed into the surface. Sealing prevents this absorption and is done after fixing the tiles with adhesive.
Different types of sealers produce different finishes for slate (gloss/natural/colour intensifier).
Natural stone should be sealed using a natural stone tile sealer.
No grouting required for these tiles.
The adhesive we recommend for split face tiles is Norcros White Rapid Porcelain & Stone Tile Adhesive. This can be used for walls and fire surrounds so no need to worry about the heat of your fire or wet environments in the bathroom. We recommend white adhesive as dark adhesive can stain natural stone tiles.
