Any loose tiles must be removed, filled and sanded smooth first, and the wall wiped down and left to dry before installation. This can save the time and mess of stripping tiles out entirely.

The same basic tools you'd use to cut standard wood-based materials: pencil, tape measure, drill, heavy-duty caulking gun, hole saw, spirit level, circular saw with a fine-tooth blade, square/chalk-line, heavy-duty suction cups, router, methylated spirit alcohol and wooden shims. No specialist trade tools required.

Wipe down with a mild detergent and a soft cloth or sponge. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scrubbing pads, which can damage the surface — a diluted vinegar solution works well on tougher stains. Regular non-abrasive cleaning keeps panels looking new for longer and keeps the guarantee valid.

No — the surface is engineered to be waterproof and easy to clean, and painting it can compromise that. If you want a different look, it's better to replace the panels with a new decor from the range rather than paint over the existing ones.
