Split face tiles made of black slate.
An interlocking natural stone tile of black slate with a natural matt finish and riven texture. Stone imitation cladding tile.
The Slate Black Split Face is a tile suitable for fire hearths and as an outdoor wall tile. Alternatively, it makes a beautiful kitchen splash back or bathroom feature wall.
Also available in Oyster slate, Grey/white Mix and White sparkle quartz.
SEAL: Natural products must always be sealed to protect them from staining and corrosion. All natural stones are porous with numerous capillaries running through, allowing liquids to be absorbed into the surface. Sealing prevents this absorption and is done after fixing the tiles with adhesive.
Different types of sealers produce different finishes for slate (gloss/natural/colour intensifier).
Natural stone should be sealed using a natural stone tile sealer.
No grouting required for these tiles.
The adhesive we recommend for split face tiles is cement based flexible Tile Adhesive. This can be used for walls and fire surrounds so no need to worry about the heat of your fire or wet environments in the bathroom. We recommend white adhesive as dark adhesive can stain natural stone tiles.
